You might also check out Jonathan Cohn's book Return of the Ancient Gods. I thought the book was kind of "meh" and highly speculative, but he did make some good points, especially about ishtar/Ashtoreth.
I have a friend who used to be trans and deeply involved LGBTQ lifestyles but is now de-transitioning after becoming a Christian. He told me: "I knew several trans people that openly worshipped ishtar." Ishtar is likely the same Canaanite god of the OT known as Ashtoreth. The OT treats these gods as real entities that must not be worshipped.
As someone who was raised Catholic, and went to a Catholic university, I’ve spent a lot of time reading the bible… And this article is some real garbage. It sounds like a white dude podcaster who loves hearing the sound of his own voice but doesn’t really understand what it means to be Christ-like.
Jesus was someone who spent time with the outcasts of society, talking with them, walking with them. Michael, it sounds like you’ve never really gotten to know anyone who’s queer or trans because if you have, you’d understand that pride month—an expression of pride and love and affirmation by and for people who are “outcasts” in our society—is so far propaganda. It’s the opposite: a beautiful expression of existence despite a society which tells these people they shouldn’t exist.
The Jesus I learned about would go out and sit with people in the LGBTQ community - talk with them and get to know them. Compassion comes from understanding.
I’d recommend you spend some more time thinking about what it means to be compassionate and Christ-like before you get up on your pastor pedestal and preach hate/ignorance for people who are already the modern biblical equivalent of the “outcasts.” This is an embarrassment to Christianity.
Here's a good place to start. A fascinating testimony from an unexpected source (Naomi Wolf).

Why do you think Jesus spent time with the outcasts of society?
To call them to repentance so they could find new life by following him (Mark 1:15)
I agree but I don’t think ‘Em does.
Gotcha. Yeah, I don’t think Em does either. Em is confused by sin and has a warped understanding of Christianity.
I'm confused... who are the "demonic LGBTQ “gods” who demand worship"? Could you give an example of one?
